From Village to Suburb: 'Edgware Through Time' Reveals Historical Evolution
Image: Amberley-Publishing.
"Edgware Through Time" authored by Joshua Thomas, is a photographic exploration of Edgware's history, juxtaposing 96 historical and modern photos.
The book traces the town's evolution from a medieval parish linked to Watling Street, to a modern suburb, highlighting changes like the 1924 Underground extension. Thomas' work, influenced by Alfred Porter, offers a multi-generational narrative of Edgware's landscape, architecture, and legends.
This visual journey is available at Amberley Publishing, Amazon, Kindle, and local bookshops.
Transforming Tragedy into Hope: Buttercup's Story of Resilience
Buttercup, a young black cat, and her kittens were found abandoned in a Harrow park and taken to Cats Protection’s Harrow Homing Centre. While her kittens were adopted, Buttercup, affected by poor health, underwent a transformative journey in a foster home, becoming an affectionate and playful cat.
The center, highlighting the broader issue of cat abandonment, urges public engagement rather than abandonment and acknowledges the support of the People’s Postcode Lottery. As Christmas nears, the hope is to find a loving home for Buttercup, with adoption opportunities available locally and across the UK
