Get Involved in Wildlife Preservation: Volunteer Day at Ten Acre Wood!
In a bid to enhance local nature reserves, the London Wildlife Trust invites volunteers to join hands in a conservation effort at Ten Acre Wood, situated along the Yeading Brook and River Crane. Scheduled for January 6th, 2024, from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM GMT, this event offers an opportunity to engage in coppicing and dead hedging under the guidance of Hillingdon ranger Pete. This traditional woodland management technique not only harvests wood but also serves as a boon for wildlife.
Participants are advised to bring their own lunch and water, and to dress in sturdy, outdoor-appropriate clothing. While there are no facilities on-site, natural options are available for those in need. The meeting point is easily accessible via the what3words link [https://w3w.co/behave.wallet.healers], located on Charville Lane UB4 8PA, opposite the Golden Bridge.
Further information about Ten Acre Woods and directions can be found on the London Wildlife Trust's website [https://www.wildlondon.org.uk/nature-reserves/ten-acre-wood]. Prospective volunteers can reach out for queries at [email protected] or by calling 07972601671.
