Arthur Gray Retires: Celebrating a Career of Community Policing Excellence
Arthur Gray, a devoted Police Community Support Officer (PCSO), is celebrating his retirement after 30 years of unwavering service to the Ealing community. His retirement, effective from 31st March at the age of 72, was marked with a long service award presented by Assistant Commissioner Louisa Rolfe at a ceremony on 13th March.
Starting his career as a Special Constable in 1993, Gray transitioned to a PCSO role in Ealing police station in 2009. Over the years, he has been a familiar face in Northolt, Greenford, and Harrow, recognized for his dedication to community safety. His efforts have not gone unnoticed; he has been nominated for a British Citizen Award and commended by the Commissioner for his exemplary service in the Metropolitan Police Service.
Parents and Teachers Voice Concerns Over School Takeover in North Wembley
Byron Court Primary School in North Wembley faces opposition from parents, students, and local community members over its proposed conversion to an academy under the Harris Federation.
This response follows a downgrade in the school's Ofsted rating, sparking concerns about the potential negative impact on education quality and the welfare of SEND students and staff.
A significant protest and a petition with over 1,000 signatures mark the community's resistance to the change, emphasizing the desire for involvement in decisions affecting the school's future.
