Community Clean-Up Initiative in Rayners Lane Tackles Litter Problem

Residents of Rayners Lane have taken proactive steps to address littering issues in their community. Led by local volunteers and supported by Harrow Litter Pickers, multiple clean-up events have been held to clear neglected areas. Efforts have focused on hotspots like benches, and Harrow Council has also assisted by providing skips for waste disposal. Davy House Car Park Under New Management, Free Parking Ends

The Davy House car park in Harrow town centre will no longer offer one-hour free parking after Harrow Council's lease was terminated by the landlord on September 13, 2024. A private company will now manage the site, and the council no longer has jurisdiction. Parking permits issued for Davy House will remain valid at the nearby Greenhill Way car park. Harrow Council continues to offer one-hour free parking at other locations throughout the borough​(

£150 Winter Support for British Gas Customers Under Government Scheme

British Gas customers across the UK will automatically receive a £150 payment this winter under the Warm Home Discount scheme. This government-led initiative helps eligible households with their winter energy bills. The discount will be credited to electricity accounts by March 2025, with pay-as-you-go customers receiving it directly on their smart meters or as vouchers. The scheme applies to those on low incomes or receiving specific benefits. Eligibility is automatically assessed for customers in England and Wales.
